We have to rent a car no matter what, so I don't mind flying into New York or Boston if its not a whole lot farther and its much cheaper....

Bradley International, it's right up the street. Just take 91 South to 84 West to exit 33 (at least I think it's exit 33, the actual road is CT-72 W). Real easy drive.

NY is good but you have to drive through crazy traffic. Boston is a lot nicer of a drive, pretty much a straight shot right out of the airport.

These guys are right. Fly into Bradley in Hartford. It is on the north side and you'll have to drive through Hardford but it is MUCH better than driving from New York.

They stopped offering tours :( Lake Compounce is in the area, kind of an old-school Six Flags.

All he really has to do is drive through the Hartford tunnel. 91S dumps onto 84W, you go through the small tunnel, and it's usually free sailing from there. 91S is usually pretty clear too. At any rate, way better than a drive from Boston or New York!

Bradley is no doubt the easiest choice ... second best would be Bridgeport which is about 45 minutes south & then Westchester NY which is maybe an hour away but much easier to deal with then an NYC airport or Boston would be.
