Well, I need to get a little loan this year to cover some of my costs, but I don't even know where to start.
I need about $2000 more, am a second year, have good credit, and I think I can pay it off next summer, that said, where do I start, what company do I want to use, what is a good payment plan to go on, etc.
Thank you for looking.

If you qualify for a federal subsidized loan be sure to do that. Interest will be deferred while you are in school. Sometimes universities also have *very* low interest loans that they will give based on need. I actually had a 0% interest loan at one time.

Check out www.studentloan.com, its thru Citibank. I took a student loan out of them, currently paying it off. Their interest rates are pretty low right now.

Just looked at their program, looks good and cheap (relatively).
Question, do they actually check your references?

I dont know about their references, its been a while since I started getting a loan from them. But, I would make sure to have valid references just to be safe.

The Stafford loan is pretty sweet. How much you are eligible for depends on your need. All of your interest will be paid by the federal government until 6 months after you graduate.
