Need to get rid of unused toner

Got a pretty good amount of unused copier toner here at work and I'm in charge of getting rid of them. I'm trying to find a place that will take them but can't find any that are local. I don't want the hassle of trying to sell them nor do I want to drive very far to drop them off. I prefer that they be picked up. But like I said I can't find any place that wants them so what I want to know now is, can I just toss them in the trash?
