I have a system that has a Abit Bx6 rev2 mobo and 128 megs Mosel 7 ns ram.
Trouble is it has a celeron 300A running at 464 mhz.
I would like to replace the cpu with something faster, anybody have recommendations?

I have a slocket and a good cooler here so I could go with a coppermine. I could also use a slot1 cpu.

All I need to do is swap the cpu, so no AMD suggestions please :D
(if I could strap a Palomino in here I would do it in a second but that would require replacing mobo & ram so forget it)

Cost is a factor, I just finished outfitting 4 young-uns for school.

If I am changing cpu I want the most bang for the buck. I could go with a P3 700e and OC it up to the 850 - 1000 range, I think
that would give me more power than a celeron2 at the same speed right? Any other ideas?
Thanks.
