I am in the market for a new phone, and have no idea what's good and hot out there. Features wise I am not really looking to pay anything extra to surf the net etc, but I would like to have GPS. Playing music and a camera are not important for me.

So far I have my eye on http://www.sonyericsson.com/cw...view/z780a?cc=ca&lc=en but it is not out yet, anyone know the release date?

Also this is my provider, so I am basically limited to it's phone selections:

Thanks

That's about all I could find on Rogers at a decent price.

Ya I was looking at that also, it's the 8110 with GPS. I called in to order it but it's out of stock, they told me to call back on monday :(

They are also offering me a 6 gig a month data plan for 30 $, good price?

Heh, 6 Gig? Wow, overkill. You'll be struggling REALLY hard to suck down anywhere near 6Gb over EDGE.

Ya I know, but I don't think they offer any other options, and from what the chick told me, they are raising the price in October. Not sure if I need this though, I pay 50 for my high speed net, 30 bucks to have net on a phone sounds like a bit much.

Nevermind, at first someone told me on the phone that the blackberry has built in GPS and doesn't cost for service. Now someone else told me that I need a data plan, and the only one they have is for 30 $ per month.

The GPS is autonomous, as in it is REAL GPS not A-GPS, like the iPhone, so it doesn't need data. The rub, however, is that unless you but a package like Telenav you need data to get maps (Google maps, for Example).
