Need to format my HD, how to I save my Outlook Express 5 e-mails/address book??

I am re-instaling my O/S and I need to backup my MS Outlook Express 5 e-mails & address book. Anyone know how I can do this, so when I re-install MSOE5, I can sucessfuly put my old e-mails back into my newly instaled e-mail client. Thanks

That's a good answer, but I've had trouble with the export part before. You could just do a search for *.wab, (.wab is for the address book), and copy that file to a floppy. Later import it when you need it.

If you have more than one partition on your hard drive, you can just go into the options menu of Outlook Express, and under the maintenance tab click on "Store Folder" and change the store folder to another partition.

Look no more, I had this same problem. In the past I saved folders, registry keys and never had 100% luck.

I found a free program called Express Assistant... Get It Here!

It was fast and so simple. They even have a version for Outlook.

PS. I forgot to mention, I saved my Outlook Express 5.0 (win98) to Outlook Express 5.5 (WinMe) without any problems.

Good luck....
