It doesnt support my nic card... so i need to dump it. How do i fix the mbr? Can i do it in xp? Or do i have to reboot, then type fixmbr dos mode?

you'll have to boot to some sort of recovery mode that xp has available and do the fixmbr command. once this is done, you will no longer get the grub menu, and the linux partition will show up in xp in the disk management section. you'll have to reformat it, but you'll be free of linux.....

why don't you try to get your setup, up and running? there's quite a large ubuntu community.

What on earth NIC do you have, that it is not supported? Ubuntu has a huge community behind it, and it would surprise me if it's not possible to get it working.

use your windows cds, to boot into the recovery console, and use the fixmbr command.
If you have some old dos bootdisks with fdisk, you can use fdisk /mbr

I'm sure tehre are Unix drivers somewhere for that card. Did you check Linksys's website? Usually they have Linux drivers for stuff.
