I have a Asus M2N32-SLi Deluxe motherboard that has been sitting around the office for a while, and I was going to put it to use for something, but I need a CPU for it. It has an early BIOS (We got this board right when they first came out), so I will need an older CPU (89w AMD CPU) to be compatible with the board, according to Asus' CPU support page.
Anyone know where I can get one of these older AM2 chips for real cheap (searched the FS/FT forum), or do you know if I can use one of the newer chips anyways and just upgrade the BIOS? Most of the chips I have found on newegg and elsewhere are the 65w and lower chips, and accoring to Asus they need one of the newer BIOS's to run. And maybe I am having a stupid moment here, but even if I got one of those, I dont see how I would upgrade the BIOS without having a supported CPU.
Thanks for any input.
