Need to find a phone number or address. How?

Friends of mine recently moved. I want to get ahold of them, but they don't have my number and I don't have theirs. I know what town they've moved to and since it's a small town, I have even gone there and asked people at the local stores and bars if they've seen them. I did actually get one hit, but she didn't know where my friends lived so it was a dead lead. Here's what I know:

Guy's first and last name. Phone service is not under his name. (Yahoo, 411, infoseek, peoplefind, common friends, etc.)
Girl's first name only. They are not married.
They just bought a house in October.
Perhaps I can get tax or realestate records through the county or state? How do I do this?

Any other suggestions would be sweet.
Thanks

Edit: I should add that this is truely a gesture of communication between college buddies. I don't have a vendetta against them or owe 'em money or anything like that.

If he just moved, then chances are that the online directories won't have him listed yet, so it's possible that the phone service is under his name.

Maybe try a google search for "real estate transactions" and the city they moved to?

I considered that it might be too early when I looked for him earlier. I'd think that his name would be in the DBs by now as it's been five months since he moved. Google came up with nothing for Plato Minnesota.

You're a hit man, aren't you!!

Seriously, try one of those people searching websites that charge you based upon the amount of effort it takes to find them. Sounds like you're pretty committed to getting in touch with them so maybe you won't mind the extra expense.

Put a personal ad in their local paper:

Looking for John and Susie who moved there in October from Smallville! I'm a college buddy of John's but can't find his number. If you know them, ask them to call Adam C. at 999-555-1212.

Although I'd like to do this without paying any jing at all, it looks like I might be SOL. Might just have to hire a net dick and pay to track them down.
Thanks.

I would either pay $7.95 (if it finds 20 results you only pay $7.95 and receive ALL 20 items of information) or contact the McLeod County Vital Records Office.

Can you PM me any info you have? I'll see what I can find.
