Need to edit a delimiter-based file in a cell-format, but not in Excel, if possible...

Excel doesn't like my type of delimiter-based files unless I import them via data, which can be a pain. Are there any simple, text-based editors that have a cell-format mode?

You can import a text-delimited file into a table in Word, edit it, then export it.

I see this a lot with CSVs I work with as well, and would love a better solution.

like Word, you can also import it using OpenOffice.org Writer (and edit it in a cell based format)
