Need to do a paper on local government...any ideas?

Need to do a paper on local government and interview people for it. Basicly its like how to get something done through local government or how they do things...some examples were like to investigate the roadkill department, what u have to do to get a stop sign put somewhere, what u have to do to get a small business started, basicly anythign that has to do with ur local gov. Paper should be 4-6 pages and i cant think of an original/intresting topic...any help?

How about how your local government goes about making a presence on the internet?

Just go to the City Hall and talk to someone. I am sure the secretary or whoever works there can help you a lot even if she just tells you what departments are in your local government and I bet they have pamphlets or some paperwork on ongoing projects. You may even be able to get an interview with a local politician or city councilman. But getting your butt out there is gonna be better than posting here.

Yeah, just call or talk to someone at city hall and they should be able to help you much more than us. It seems to me that it doesn't even really matter what you do the paper on so long as your subject provides sufficient information that can be collected easily enough and quickly enough for you to do your paper. Also, try to get something that interest you personally because I'm sure you'll write a better paper if you're talking about something that interests you.

One last thing, dress nice if you go to city hall. I once had to write a paper about state government so I sat in on a committee meeting and I felt like a fish out of water because I wasn't in a suit.
