i can take a picture to prove i own the game if anyone needs it.

i do NOT want to copy my game cd to give to anyone else or to pirate or anything of the sort. i simply want a backup of it. i do this with all of my games that require the cd to play incase i damage them.

with battle for middle earth 1, i did not copy the game cd and it requires cd1 to play. my cat scratched the CD and i had to send disc 2 and 5 dollars to EA to get another copy of disc 1.

i dont want to do that again!

i can not figure out how to copy the cd. i downloaded some tools and found out it has safedisc 4.6 (at least i think that is right), and so far none of the programs can even make an image of it. ive tried nero and alcohol 120%.

if this is not allowed to be posted, then can someone please PM me because i hate paying for games and worrying about scratching them. why cant they just run off of the hard drive? anyway, please help!

alcohol 120% didn't work? they just released an update a week ago (I think).

One thing you could do is go to club.cdfreaks.com (one of the biggest optical media forums on the net) and check over there what people have been doing. I could almost guarantee you that someone else is having the same issue and it probably has been resolved.

(check your PM too)

If you are interested in running the game without having to keep switching out other game cds i would suggest reading this:

TotalBF2 Mini-Image Tutorial

But if you are just looking to make a backup, I think step 4 on that page should be all you need to do. Most important thing to remember is that you are going to get errors when making a image of any games that use safe disc, this is normal.

i dunno if its legal or not but you can go to gamecopyworlddotcom (replace dot with .) and d/l no cd patches. I dont play games anymore but I used to do this all the time when I was younger cause finding the CD sucked whenever I wanted to play especially when I used to build my own comps and would leave a CD in one drive and forget to take it out when i disassembled. MAJOR PAIN IN THE ***... =)

if this is not legal, I am sorry and someone tell a mod to delete this post.
