Need to connect electric guitar to mic-socket on PC...

Hi,

I'm just getting in to recording some music on my PC from my electric guitar. I need to find the adaptor which will connect a standard guitar lead from the line-out of my amp to the mic/line-in socket on my soundcard.

Can you help me find one please? Thanks in advance!

Unless I am mistaken, which is possible, your guitar uses a standard 1/4 headphone jack. This is pretty easy to turn into the 1/8" that your line in uses, its a 3 dollar part from radio shack. This should get you the input with out a problem, although I am sure there is a way to do it with more quality.

Thanks, that sounds great.

I just wasn't sure of the sizes involved, too lazy to find out I guess. So i'm after a 1/4" to 1/8" jack? Thanks!
