Have to buy a new CD player for the beater and don't want to spend a lot. Looked at a few cheapie players and have it down to basically two....a Pioneer DEH-1600 and an Alpine CDM-9821. They're within $20 of each other and I'm leaning toward teh Alpine. I just like the rotary volume control and the all green face color matches the rest of the dash's lights.
Any reason to save the $20 on the Pioneer? (I've already looked at competing models from JVC, Sony, Kenwood, Panasonic, and Aiwa, and outside the Aiwa, the rest were dismissed because of durability questions, an all-blue or blue and red face which I really cannot tolerate, or very, very small undecipherable buttons, etc.)
