Need to check if its the monitor causing the problem

I think its the monitor thats causing the problem so I was wondering if it was possible to attach her monitor to my laptop to see if its working properly. I know that if this doesn't work I can always lug my monitor over to her house but I wanted to save myself the hassel if I didn't have to.

Does your laptop have a VGA or DVI port? My el-cheapo Inspiron b130 does. If not then I don't think it's possible.

AFAIK it works that way... you'll probably have to enable in windows by going into the video settings (right click, properties, settings) and set it to work for 2 screens. Then you can configure it to work on both screens or expand your desktop.
