Need to change pads?

Am I supposed to change those 5 small oval shaped pad thingies underneath my mx510?

One if them is completely gone anyways. And I even removed the sticky silver stuff. The other are starting to go too I think.

some webstores catering to system builders sell mouse feet or teflon tape. or find some industrial supplier online that sells ptfe teflon tape. nothing special really, get a roll and be set for life.

It used to be possible to request free samples from 3M. I'm not sure if you cant do it anymore..

How does the tape stick to itself to be in a roll like that?
