so I'm looking at a few craigslist phones on the relative cheap for her to try. She doesn't like touch screen because of her longer nails. Wondering if I buy a used phone do I need to get it transferred some how. Because and I can buy it and then they can report it and get the esn blocked?

Tmobile is good about accepting phones they didnt personally sell you. Just make sure it is in fact Tmobile compatible. Get a SIM from Tmobile, plop it in. Doesnt even need to be unlocked.

The real answer is Note 2, but that's not cheap.

Before you buy, make sure the IMEI isn't blacklisted, the seller isn't abandoning his installment payments, etc.

You know it's even not an answer for OP.

my question is someone is selling a tmobile phone that I think they paid for 1/2 of it as a down payment and they still need to pay the 1/2 in installments. It's a real good deal but I'm afraid something is probably going to go sideways and they don't honor the other 1/2 of it. Then probably the phone will get imei blocked?

I like my MyTouch 4G Slide phone. It was T-Mobile's first dual core phone with a slide out keyboard, but sadly, no upgrades beyond Android 2.3.

Yes. Don't ever buy a phone that's not fully paid off. It would all be fine if they put your money into paying the balance, but they often just pocket it and screw the buyer (you).
