I need to purchase a couple decently strong magnets. Nothing that will lift a car or a person or anything, but I would like a decent strength in a magnet that weighs under 5-10 lbs or so tops.

Anyone bought magnets online before, and, if so, where?

GO buy some magnetic antenna mounts for cars. That's probably the cheapest way to get a relatively powerful magnet.

I think your best bet is to buy an old hard drive, one of those big fat ones from the 1980's. My friend took one of his apart and it had these SUPER STRONG magnets in it. They weren't very big, about an inch and a half long by an inch wide, but they are so strong that you can barely pull them apart when you stick them together. I've even cut my finger when I tried to hold them back since they violently pull together. In fact, one of them broke in half from snapping together so hard. They make my TV change colors from about 5 feet away. I can't believe how strong they are.

They're neodymium, & they come with warnings about pinched/cut fingers & exploding (they're brittle, & can shatter on impact).

;)

I want one (or a few) of these

Even better

They should allow an opposed pair of them to impinge upon the testicles of usama bin laden. Furthermore, this process should be allowed to continue forever.

Wonder if your average person could get two of those apart?
