I live in Brazil and a friend from Vegas is coming here, so I have to move fast.

My option now is Evga's GTX260 Core216 OC (626MHz) for $227 (expensive, I know, but only Amazon accepts my inernational credit card to bill and deliver in her place, sadly Newegg does not), OR wait for the new announcements.

If it is a GTX275 it may not be much faster than this OCéd 260, so... Well, I can wait ultil April 6 and have it shipped next day to be sure (she's coming on the 9th).

Any thoughts guys?

Thanks and sorry about my english.

How about a paypal account? Find a good retailer who ships internationally and accepts paypal?

What sort of PC are you going to be pairing it with (CPU, monitor resolution)?

I don't need international shipping, I need an etailer that accepts my brazillian international mastercard and ships to an address in the U.S. (i.e. different billing and shipping addresses). I'll find out about Tigerdirect. I do have a Paypal account, but many stores will only ship to the paypal registered address, which does not work for me.

It's an E8400 @ 3.6GHz, my monitor is currently a Sony G420 CRT, so I'll game at either 1280x960 or 1600x1200 with everything on (AA and AF).

Have you tried your credit card with TigerDirect.com? Their prices are cheaper than Amazon, I believe.

Tiger has the same card for $214 (very close to Amazon), and they seem to accept my card and ship to US. Nice to know, thanks.

EDIT: Brazil is not on their country list to register an account, so it seems i'm out of luck.

Not sure how good of a friend it is, but you could always have him buy something from newegg.com and paypayl him the amount? At newegg your friend could buy a 179$ GTX260 216c from BFG. Or he could get this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814121288

It might only have 512mb of vram, but you don't really need more then that for your resolution. It's a TOP version with a very nice cooler on it, and costs less, especially if your friend bothers cashing in the rebate.

I don't have the knowledge of the whole situation. But why don't you have your friend pay for the card in the U.S. and then you can just pay her in cash in Brazil.

Just go with the 216. Dont worry about what is coming around the corner, it will not make your card perform any different. There is always the "next thing" coming out. Right now, it is all shrinks and higher stock clocks. No biggie.

Yeah, it seems that MAYBE the GTX275 will have 240 stream processors, but more likely only 216 with a bump in clock speeds which should be compensated for the most part with me getting an OC GTX260. And I read they will only be available after April 12th, so no game for me either way.

buy.com? zipzoomfly.com? ewiz.com? directron.com?

Fleabay will be a tough one as most sellers are irrationally scared of orders paid with international credit cards shipped within the USA.... not a good combination in the eyes of scampal and its seller pooptection policy....

Amazon I say.

Alex
PS. Yes, not the best price all the time, but amazon is tough to beat if you live outside the USA. Several of my relatives buy there quite often and get it shipped to my house... at times my place looks like a warehouse ;)
