Need to buy a bicycle... probably a mountain bike

Ok, just moved to a large city and want a bicycle to get around. I would also like the bike to be able to go on an occassional trail. I don't want to spend more than $300 ($200 is even better) and have no problem going used or last year's model. In fact, I would prefer getting an older model to save money.

any suggestions?

I have a good suggestion.

Brand: "Giant"
Name: "Boulder"

It is a large size bike with just a front shock system... great for city biking and handles trails just as nice.

I paid $260 plus tax.

Great bike, had it over two years. Haven't had a problem with it yet.
