Need to book a hotel in Atlantic City for myself and six cheapskate friends...recommendations?

Aiight, here's the deal. A bunch of my fellow Carolina alums decided to get together with a few graduating seniors for a weekend in Atlantic City before graduation. So we've all decided to meet up in Atlantic City from May 11-14, and now we need a place to stay. Some of the boys, being college students, have negative cash flow and need to live cheap in order to have gambling money (its a priority.) They nearly flipped when I was ready to book the Tropicana (and its like the cheapest casino hotel there!)

Some of you may be familiar with how the rate structure works: Friday and Saturday nights, its usually $150-$200 per room, even at the cheapest Hojo or Quality Inn. However, Sunday and Monday night, you could even book a room at the Taj for under $100 sometimes, and most places drop their rates to between $70-$80.

I need to find the cheapest place possible that can handle 7 people. We don't wanna do the one room cram either, cause we'll likely need two bathrooms. Does anyone here have any experience in Atlantic City? I've never been, so your suggestions are very much appreciated!

There is a rest area about 30 miles west of town....I heard one in six overnighters get killed for their money.....your chances are 1 in 6....Always play the odds!😎

LOL,you're on a roll tonight, what are you practicing yur stand up act ? 😀

'taint no act!😀

<< I got a $200/night hotel in Nashville for $55/night that way. >>

Hmmm, that must be why the casinos stay open 24/7....that daily commute from Nashville is a killer!😕

econo lodge... right in the heart of AC... walking distance to various casinos....

i stay there for $59/night.... it'll fit 4 people on 2 queensized beds.....

Now, if he can lose the other two at the aforesaid rest area, he's got it made!....The odds aren't as good, but it sure is a closer commute than Nashville!😎

technically, they could all play a hand of blackjack... loser sleeps on the floor...
so bring sleeping bags... 😀

i remember there's a good chinese food place on the boardwalk... the seating area is in the basement...
it is quite cheap but very tasty.

remember to bring your blackjack chart and memorize it.

You might want to try www.biddingfortravel.com. It is a forum just like this, but they all discuss how to get the lowest price on hotels and airline tickets through priceline. I did some checking and you can get a room for $45 plus tax for the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel. This is the website for that hotel. The usual rate for a room on that night is $189 plus tax. Let me know if you need any help getting this deal. I've been doing it for dozens of hotels.

Jon

Tropicana has bonus room rates at 69 dollars i believe, i just got an email. don't know if it applies to the date your gonna be there however. I dunno...I think tropicana is the best bang for buck, its on the boardwalk and walking distance to many casinos. dunno...if you cant afford the tropicana, the other cheaper inns and motels arent THAT much cheaper....prolly cheapest a night you'll find is maybe 45-50 bucks a night? And you might have to drive from your room to get to the casinos....i dunno, if its like a bunch of you and they are having a problem paying for a cheap room at like the tropicana, maybe they should just sleep in their cars 🙂

Nobody has a player's card? Cmon, I'm sure somebody u know has one, book it under his/her name. It'll shave half off if he's a big player. I myself usually stay at Caesars, but I've done the Tropicana too 😉

<< Don't go on a trip like that with cheap friends. They will probably ruin it with their cheapness. >>

Well he did say they're college students and that don't have much money (kinda makes ya wonder why their going gambling in the first place hehe). But hell...AC is fun whether your a high roller or not...and friends are friends...you gotta make do with what ya got. Perhaps some of them will win big (yeah right..one can dream at AC) and get comped at a nice room.
