Ok. I have an electric bass at school. I have a Sony VAIO laptop. I have and old-ish stereo/cd/tape/radio thingie connected to my headphone jack via one of those CD car apapters that fit in your tape deck. I want to amplify my bass guitar somehow. I have access to many adapters/wires. My roomie is a DJ. Some help please?

This is not a good idea. Unless you get serious bass speakers, you could damage anything you use.

Trust me. I design pro audio electronics, and I play.

Sorry to rain on your parade. I just wanted to warn you before you damaged your speakers.

Harvey knows what he is talking about, if you hook up to your pc you will most definitely be buying new speakers within the hour. I play and have hooked my bass up to many different setups and have learned the hard way more then once. Don't be foolish when people right here are telling you that it's been tried and the results are less then flattering.
