Where I work we have a T1 with a wired LAN. In the offices we would like to have a wireless connection for customers and laptop usage. I've done my homework on this and know how it all works and we basically just need an access point as the distance is not very great (less than 50feet). The thing I can't get my head around is what would be the best access point to buy.
Another question is would it be better to configure a router as an AP so I can plug a PC into the built in switch in order to keep that PC connected with its wired connection or should I add on a separate switch with a stand alone AP?
We are looking for the best value, we don't need Cisco or any special $200+ units. Just basic WiFi functionality for laptops, iPhones and the like that would be reliable. I don't want to have to constantly reset the AP/Router all the time if I can avoid it.
Help me select our best option.
Thanks!
