I just got another line today and I have 2 pair, red/green and black/yellow I only had them do the outside job to the demark point cause I didnt wanna pay $125 for somthing that shouldnt be that hard. Unfortunatly it doesnt work. I changed the black/yellow to where the re/green were cause I only want it working in 1 room of the house not all 3. I get no dial tone though. I need some ideas on why its not working. None of the wires are cut in the loop. Do I need to connect it in the atic where its coming in?

I'd bet that the lines are not connected any further than the main box. The installer most likely just ran a new line from the pole to the house. Its up to you to connect the lines from there. Red/green are most common, I think. If you connect the new line to the yellow/black pair, be sure the red/green outlets are connected to y/b wires.

SnowPunk98, most likely yes, you will have to go up into the attic. When I had a second line installed in my apartment, the installer ran the second line seperately, so to get my second line into my room, I then had to run the wires all the way from point of entry :(

If both phone numbers are coming in on one line, the first line is on the red/green pair, the second line is on the black/yellow pair.

Usually the easiest thing to do is run all four wires to every location, then use a two-line splitter (available at Radio Shack) to get access to the second phone line.

This give you the future option of getting a two-line phone as well (both lines delivered to the phone over one cord).

Good Luck
