Need TeAm added to SRBase new project.

I finally learned on another forum that the invitation code is on the front page of the site. Continuing...

Edit: And...Done. 🙂

I guess you could ask in the Mersenneforum thread. But there are lots of projects, especially around that forum, that don't use BOINC. Many predate PrimeGrid. And PrimeGrid tries to avoid stepping on other people's toes. They actually waited a very long time to add The Riesel Problem, in case Riesel Sieve ever came back. (Which it didn't.)

Is there some reason that this project is being done by a private individual, and not PrimeGrid? Just curious.
My loyalties are with Ken_g6 and PrimeGrid.

But I like to bring some new projects to 100,000 for the Free-DC "Milestones" 🙂

It's one more thing to help keep my interest up!

Aw, shucks. :$ Thanks!

But I'm likely to try this SRBase project out myself, in between other races. I was finding primes long before PrimeGrid existed. I think at least some of the people involved in this project were as well.

Do any of the other prime or number discovery projects give credit to the individual for finding numbers like PrimeGrid does?

And it is handy having a guy like you around - so I can ask questions like:
I want to find a prime, which PrimeGrid project gives me the best chance?
🙂

Well, all the manual ones you manually enter the prime at http://primes.utm.edu/ and give yourself credit. For SRBase...that's a good question. But I'm not sure if the primes there are large enough to count in the top 5000, either. :hmm:

One large enough to count in the top 5000? Probably either PPSE or maybe SGS. Technically, whichever's faster is probably more likely at this point.

If you just want to find a prime, even if it's small, I think there's a small prime search on port 10000 of the PrimeGrid PRPNet server. (That's non-BOINC work that counts toward a PSA badge.)

Edit: On a second look, looks like they finished the port 10000 work. 🙁
