hey i got one of those! mine is the expensive one that is not worth it (oh man you better believe it is so worth it)
i gots Athlon XP 1700+, pretty damn good mobo with KT266A chipset 60GB HDD (not big really) 50X CD, GeForce2 Ti200 (not top of the line, not even close) and 512mb DDR RAM in 1 chip
whole thing cost me $1900 Canadian, really not that expensive seeing as how if you look at the price of those computers on TV from like Dell or whatever on American channels like CBS it will say 'this powerful P5 1.9gHz computer for only $1500!!!' but when you take into consideration the conversion rate, that P4 which was BLOWN OUT OF THE WATER by my Athlon XP is really $2250, it does come with a monitor (pretty nice one worth about 250 bucks and some $30 speakers Canadian of course) but that Dell comes with basically no warranty or tech support
they say it does but it realy doesn't, if you call up Dell tech support and tell them a legit problem they will be like 'uh have you tried restarting your computer?' but if my Athlon ever has a problem i take it into the place i got it, they HAVE TO FIX IT because of the unconditional 3 year warranty on it (exlcluding you tampering with it such as overclocking)
just buy a custom for your girlfriend and make sure it's an AMD processor because they cost less, check out these prices:
INTEL® CELERON(TM) PROCESSOR 1.2GHZ CPU 128K L2 CACHE PPGA SOCKET 370 $195.00
AMD-RETAIL DURON 1000 MHZ CPU SOCKET A $175.00
notice they are different speeds but look at this benchmark comparing the 2 processors:
