Is there any reason to get a 2007-08 GMC Yukon over a Chevy Tahoe? They seem to be about the same. Also is the hybrid model worth getting? What is the typical gas mileage for one of these? How much do they typically cost buying it from a person?

Same truck its a looks thing at that point. the 5.3 is gonna get you around 13-14 in the and about 18-20 on strict highway cruise and from 14-20k+ depending on options denali etc. Nice trucks and from a private seller always go with cash and a couple good friends easiest way to get a large chunk of change off hard to say no to a huge was of cash when its in your face!

2008 Yukon Hybrid is 21 in the city 22 highway for the RWD model and 20/20 for AWD.

Per fueleconomy.gov's numbers, you're going to save something like $800/year in fuel.

Personally I can say it was a lot nicer filling up with my previous car getting ~20mpg compared to my current car getting 14. You can drive to the next town without seeing your gas gas swing 1/4 tank.

Interestingly, the premium is $3-4k for vehicles with comparable mileage. $33k for a hybrid with 40,000 miles vs $30k for the non-hybrid. I would really consider it if I was to purchase one, it's about a 43% bump in your city fuel mileage.

Also consider long term implications if you go with the hybrid, those batteries will have to be replaced at some point and it's already 4-5 years old.

See this is what I am wondering and I am actually thinking it might be best to skip the hybrid. I guess I'll have to look up how much the batteries cost. Are these vehicles very reliable? How long do they typically go before a major repair is needed?

Doesn't strike me as a common issue that I've heard of on the forums... Weird. Any idea where it leaks from? My old car leaked oil from the pan seal because the pan got bashed.

nearly bullet proof trucks. I would skip the hybrid. no difference between the gmc and chevy.
