Need Super Urgent Help for AMD 6950 card

I am buying new GPU 6950, Which manufacturer i shud go for Saffire Or power Color ?

Plz suggesst frm these two coz availability issue in india.

i will be flahing this card with 6970 bios + saffire comes with 3 years warranty and power color with 2years but cooling is better as you can see on newegg link.

Neither of those cards will boot up the 6970 bios. You need a reference design card for that.

Furthermore, flashing with a 6970 bios will probably destroy the card. You need a modified 6950 bios. Read up on it.

I just purchased a 1gb model. Even though it has the dual bios, all I have heard is that the bios update to a 6970 only works with the 2gb reference models. It makes no difference to me though.

Yes, Pretty sure it will only work with the 2 GIG cards.

That article was never updated after the research that was conducted in the discussion thread. Skim through the thread to see what was worked on after, especially that the 6970 BIOS's were damaging cards. Read this post: http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2137880#post2137880 . That script allows you to modify your original 6950 BIOS and only unlock the shaders.

Correct, I have yet to see or hear anything about unlocking a 1GB version, all I know is that it can't be done.

Here's a report from Tom's Hardware based on their recent flash of an HD6950: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-6950-unlock-build-a-pc-overclock,2893-5.html. Scroll to bottom of page. They confirm that modifying the bios is the way to do it, and that it won't work on 1GB cards.
