Hey everyone, so recruiting season is coming up and I wanted to make sure I have a couple suits to use. The only problem is I have a 46" chest and 34" waist - no off the shelf suit combinations have this large of a drop. This means I must buy separates.

What does ATOT recommend is the best place to buy good and cheap separates with a good selection?

Macy's has seperates but good and cheap may be mutually exclusive.

Go to Saks, Niemans or Nordstroms, what you want is a 46 super slim or something that is bespoked. 46 super slim is going to be a 10-12 inch drop depending on the suit.

Yeah I stopped at Macy's yesterday and saw something that I liked for a pretty good price. I waited to pull the trigger because I wanted to see what people on ATOT would have to say.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've never heard of the super slim but I'll look at it. My only worry would be that my arms may not fit in the super slim. Those stores are more on the higher price point too, right?

Never had a problem with my separates from there - I got the Alfani Red collection for around $208 total? It was one of those one-day sales that they seem to have every other week.

I have a similar but larger drop from chest to waist (though my waist has been catching up over the years!). I've had excellent service at Nordstroms and their pricing is generally better than Neiman's & Sak's. I've heard this referred to elsewhere (lower end places) as 'athletic cut'.

athletic cut is a 6-8 inch drop.

Nordstroms is going to be the cheapest on the list but quality is quite good.

Nordstrom is having their Anniversary sale starting Friday. There are quite a few separates that are available for pretty dang cheap.
