I placed a bid on half.com (which is a sub site of ebays) for a IBM thinkpad for 170.00. Well I went ahead and bought it with my credit card, I didnt really think anything of it, because I looked over all the specs for it and it was 2-3 years old. I figured I could use it for word proc. So I was looking at the info today and its in the packaging stage, well about an hour ago I got an email that gave its arrival date, so I am thinking great I'll have it before my trip...well 20 mins later I get a message from the seller stating that I would need to go to another website and pay an additional 80 before I would get the laptop. So I have a feeling I am screwded out of 170 and I am really not sure what to do now besides filing a claim with eBay.

1. Get his address.

2. Go to said address.

3. Kick the ever-living sh!t out of the seller.

4. Take laptop.

5. Say thank you.

6. Leave.

Either take it up with Ebay...which will take a long time, or call your credit card company now and ask them for options. Let them know that you want to refuse payment because they changed the contract and see what they say....it can't hurt. I know they'll definitely reverse a charge if you didn't receive merchandise.

so heres the scoop on this:

Seller sent me an email telling me I would need to pay an extra 80 dollers and gave me a link to follow well that link leads to a UK company that sells E-Books. apparently you pay them the 80 dollers for ebooks then they load them on your laptop and then send it to you. Bunch of bullshit I didnt want an shiity uk ebooks just a laptop. This is the last time I will ever do business with half.com

yeh, if that wasn't in the description/payment instructions, I would dispute with ebay, and the CC company.
That is pure BS wow.
