So, I have this posting on Craig's List...

http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/ele/650781919.html

It's for a TV, that I am selling. I have been posting this for a little over a week pretty much every other day. Is there something that will make the TV more attractive and sell faster?

Please don't mention lowering the price; well, that's a no brainer. I would like to try at this price for another week before I lower it.

Thanks!

You could not advertise your crap on ATOT.

You already hit it on the spot with lowering the price. Nobody "shops" craigslist because they want a TV only 10% off, the do it because they can get a hell of a good deal without the stupid bidding war on eBay.

And also... maybe you haven't realized this but there are a lot of people who aren't really big on spending lots of money right now.

Has anyone sent you a message yet? I'd say it's over priced if you've had no interest and you don't really have a choice but to lower the price.

Do they have a forsale forum on AVSforum?

A: No picture of TV with the stand that it comes with
B: $1400 is alot to pay to a person I don't know, over a sketchy website, for high end electronics, with no idea of how the gear has been treated during its life. I don't have a suggestion for you there, thats just my gut feelings looking at your posting.

C: Plus the price isn't that great, I could probably find a deal like that in a local store if I was patient, for a brand new TV.

Seems like too much money for craigslist.

For $1,400 you can get out the door after taxes a 46" LCD with a full warranty.

Yeah, the stand is unassembled and unused, so I dont know how to get around that

That is a point that I have considered. But I don't what else to use other than eBay or AVS as someone else suggested but I guess that would be a similar thing since I would have to create a new account and that rings sketchy.

Proper grammar in the ad probably won't help, but it certainly wouldn't hurt:

This is the first of it's kind to use LED lights to create the color picture. There is no more light bulbs to change, no more rainbow effect from that spinning color wheel.

Ding ding ding.

Price is the biggest reason here - would you buy a used TV for this price when you can get one brand new that's larger for only $100 more? (Vi edit's post)

For every year you own a product, I think you're safe to say that it will drop 50% in market value, and simply owning it even without opening will drop it 20% in market value.

Those numbers are without research and so they're just what I keep in mind when I buy something.

Try adding some more pictures and bigger ones. Also maybe find a picture of the back showing all the various inputs it has.

$900 or fail.

also consider that you are reselling this after just over 1 year. As a potential buyer, I really don't care that you are upgrading, b/c all I can think is, "what is wrong with this set?"

Alas, that also crossed my mind.

You really think that $900 is the best i can do for it?

You're asking for the impossible. Your TV is simply not worth that much. You can't use an HDTV for a year and expect it to depreciate only 300 bucks. People wade through the dozens of posts where people try to sell their old P2 computers for hundreds of dollars to find screaming deals, not overpriced flotsam from an upgrade.

It's not a bad TV at all, but you're not getting 1400 for it. Accept that, and try again at a lower price.

This is the answer and you know it, OP. You might luck into a retard who'll pay $1400, but it's doubtful. The retards are all out buying brand new sets at Best Buy. The only people looking for a TV of that caliber on CL will demand a deal.
