Hi I'll like to play Skyrim on Ultra-high graphics however my laptop makes a loud noise while I do in ultra play - I can play without lag in high graphics but I'll like to play in ultra.

I'm just wondering on which graphic card I should get that will play online games in ultra-high graphics I'll like the prices to be under $200.

My current graphic cards are :

Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000
&
NVIDA GeForce GT 55M

My Laptop specs are :

Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium

Intel Core i7-2630QM

CPU @ 2.00Ghz

8.00 GB RAM

Thanks.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I don't think laptop graphics cards are able to be upgraded. There might be some people who have managed to make something work but generally speaking.....what you start with is what you're stuck with. It would be nice if it worked like a desktop and you could upgrade video but unfortunately I think you'll be stuck with what you have unless you buy a new laptop that has a better graphics card.

Do you mean 550m? I would recommend 7970m (cheap) or 760m or above currently. Skyrim needs plenty of fast VRAM which most laptop GPU's don't provide.

On my laptop, Skyrim is CPU limited on my 650M if I overclock it. If you configure your skyrim.ini to allow more than two threads; here is a guide, that you could help drive your GPU better.

I would try MSI Afterburner to overclock your 550m before you purchase a new laptop. In my opinion, there is no good purchase for a laptop GPU unless you are several generations behind. The 650M is the same version of the desktop GPU and has the same power consumption; just like the 780m compared to the GTX 680.
