You might want to consider a mac mini. The M2 chip is pretty impressive, virtually silent and efficient. I know this is a build forum, but....for your needs it fits the bill.

Agreed, no reason to buy something new/modern at $1400 for that use. If you have no viable PC at the moment, pick up a used OEM system for $100-ish.

Office work is like war. It does pay have have faster scanners, one laser printer for bulk print, one printer than can be thrown into service for color prints. Epson sucks because their design results in clogged ports that need to be cleaned before new cartridges can work.

USB speeds, get the most ports and fastest in the front and back.

Blue light filter monitors should be considered. I find HP to offer the best screen for the poor eyes after checking them out in Microcenter. They just feel more relaxed staring into them.

Ram. Get 64GB. The more space the better to complement the SSD.

You might want to use the whole Microsoft account thing so everything is mirrored on the laptop and PC.

LOL one guy says to get a $100 used PC. Another says to load one up with 64GB of RAM for MS Office. :tearsofjoy:

For the record, there's nothing wrong with an off-lease corporate PC for basic productivity work. Nor did the OP suggest he is capped to a small budget either.
