need suggestions on new router

I'm in need of a new wireless router, but not sure what's a good one to get.

It will be for basic computer use, couple cell phones / tablets. The most it's going to be doing is streaming movies from netflix.

I'll also need it to have a wired connection for my primary gaming computer to connect through, I prefer not to game on wireless.

My budget is around $50-80 max. I've seen a lot in this range, but I'd prefer not to buy something and find out its a piece o crap.

Anyone have any suggestions for a quality router in this price range? or at least the best quality I can get?

Thanks!

The general idea about Home Wireless is to get a Wireless Router that is DD-WRT compatible, (in case One needs advanced features), Dual Band capable, and being flexible about budget.

Saving within the sub $100 category on a device that is going to be used for few years and it is the center of the Internet connection/Local Network is rather Silly.

Do you happen to know how often they restock those refurbished e4200's?

are there usually any issues with refurbs?

Thanks!

I bought this router 2 years ago and have been very pleased with it:

Before that I had a Netgear that lasted at least 6 years before it started giving me issues. Just to give you an idea, I use the router for a wired connection to our desktop and server, and a wireless connection to: printer (connected to 2 laptops and 1 desktop), 2 laptops, blu-ray player, Nintendo DS, and a wii. I also use the router for my secure connection to work. No problems at all.

you could try a medialink router, you can find them on Amazon. Very reasonably priced and they have over 4000 reviews! That's almost unheard of as far as wireless router reviews go. In a lot of cases I have also seen good high end priced type routers that have been refurbished and sold for cheap on Amazon also. Just my two cents 🙂
