Need Suggestions on good 19" monitor!

Samsung SyncMaster 955DF for around $350

Refresh rates are kinda low, but you get a perfect flat screen with some of the smallest dot pitch in the market. The 950P is a very nice monitor as well.

If you can spend like $20-40 more, I highly recommend the SyncMaster 900NF and the KDS AV-195TF .

I don't know how it compares to the G790, but I have a Viewsonic V95 and am very pleased. I got it about a year ago at NECX (www.necx.com) and got it for about $350. I am sure the prices have dropped some since then.

My vote goes to the Viewsonic PF790. Get a "flat" screen. Convex is.... out!

PF790 is no match for Samsung 900NF and KDS AV-195TF, and it's more expensive than those two as well. So it's.... out of the consideration.

I don't understand these monitor posts.

MONITORS ARE SUBJECTIVE. Sorry, had to vent that. I read a mess of reviews, just thinking I would buyt the best I could find or whatever, then I went to actaully look at them, and guess what, I found out I HATE trinitron tubes. Passionately. Would have been kinda bad to buy one eh?

Go to a big computer store. Look at about 20 different monitors. Find the one that looks best to your eye, then buy it cheaper online from someplace out of state, and with free shipping. (Onvia or Outpost are generally pretty safe bets).

Granted there is some component of monitor shopping that someone else can do for you, but at the end of the day--take a look!
