Need suggestions on doing a cheap (temp) remodelling job in a basement

I'm trying to find some ways to spruce up a section of my basement that will be roughly around 10x12 to possible 12x16. I just want to enclose off a space just big enough to stick in a couch, TV, a couple of PCs and some space for comic books and hard back novels. So far I know a place to buy some cheap remnant carpeting so that takes care of the flooring, I plan on looking for some cheap lamps to take care of the lighting. But now I need something to use as temporary walls. I was thinking of maybe using some thick curtains or something similar.

Any suggestions out there for decorating and remodelling a dusty basement area?
