Here is the situation. I have a customer that I am building a system for and he bought his own case, a Q500 I believe. Anyway, this was going to be an IDE system, but then he decided to get a half height SCSI drive.

The case does not have the ability to have an intake fan or outtake fan blowing over the drive.:( I can mount it in a 5.25" drive bay with adapters, but it takes up the entire height of the bay, so there goes the idea of using something like the Vantec Ultimate HDD Cooler. That would make the overall height way too much.

Any suggestions??

<Edited> for half height, not full height! /DOH

If it fits a standard 5 1/4 drive bay then its only half height, and a simple 3 fan drive bay cooler that clips to the front panel is all you need ... :)

Two full drive bays is Full height, one drive bay is half height, and 1 inch drives common today are Low Profile.. :)

Here is an example

You could also cut a hole out of the front plastic bezel (if it's a Q500). If you take the bezel off, you'll notice a bunch of holes drilled into the case right where the hard drives sit. There spaced perfectly so you can mount a 80mm or 92mm fan without doing any cutting into the metal (although it's recommended so you get better airflow).
