Hey guys... This is my system as of now:

Thermaltake 480watt PSU
MSI K7N2 Nforce2 Board
Athlon XP 3200+ Barton
Sapphire 9800 Pro w/ VGA Silencer
1 Gb DDR400 2x512mb
Various IDE Hard drives...
Audigy 2

+Z-5500 Speakers & Hyundai 19" LCD <--

So yeah... I need some more steam in this rig. It runs Battlefield 2 acceptably, at medium settings on 1024x768. AA & AF set low.

I'm thinking of upgrading to 64 bit & PCI-E... I saw a refurb NEO4 plat. board for like 70 bucks, I think I might pick that up with a 3800+. Wise?

I need advice on what boards are good, the difference in the cores of the processors (Clawhammer, Venice, etc) what is better, and also, I'll take suggestions on a good video card that'll run BF2 like a charm.

Also... I'm trying to keep the cost down.. so a vid card 200-300 is what I'm looking for. The main question is what video cards I should look at... x800gto? What is the best bang for the buck?

IT would be best to ask about a new comp in general in a General hardware forum, instead of the video forum...

Although since you ask an advice on a vid card, it's ok 🙂. I'm certain that your grabbin a PCI-e board, and best bang for the buck cards in your price range are:

X800GT0^2
X800XL
6800GT

What cards are the best for specifically BF2? I know ATI cards are in general a lot better when it comes to HL2. How about BF2 though?
