Chenming 301K

Alternately if you live near a Fry's, some of them have the Antec Super LAN Boy case for around $40 after rebate (Chicago ad price through Tuesday 4/25). With all the complaints about this case being too flimsy and tight to work in, should fit your requirements nicely.

I just got a SuperLanboy last month from CUSA with the rebate deal....very happy so far...incredibly lightweight, thoughtfully designed, sideways HD rails with dampeners, 2 decent 120mm fans, the case runs surprisingly cool. My only negative is that it does not have a motherboard tray and the door on the front does not lock.....but both side panels do have hasps for attaching a padlock or small lock if you wish (for lan parties). If you can get it at fry's with that rebate, I think it's a steal. (ps. It's also been reviewed well if you feel like googling up some reviews)

This is about the cheapest available at Newegg Skyhawk. It's 16.2" high (Dealsonic has a couple other Skyhawk models). Then there is smallest and lightest of the standard ATX tower design - Aspire XSonic - significantly less deep and slightly shorter, but you get stuck with a junk-box PSU. This case is basically the same inside as the original Antec LanBoy (made by the same OEM).
. And http://www.directron.com usually has a good selection of Al cases, some brands not available very many places.

That OEM is Chenming... the case that I linked to above. Indeed I reviewed the Chenming case here years ag0... on 04/05/2003 to be exact...

Antec LAN BOY / Chenming ATX-301 Aluminum, separated at birth?

Oh, I forgot the nMedia (Enermax-related company) 300 series (and the very similar JPac NJA) - the nMedia has a steel chassis and aluminum front while the NJA is steel and plastic. But they are small enough to get close to all aluminum for weight - the smallest cases I know of that can hold a standard ATX mobo (at about 0.85 cu.ft.). Anything smaller and you're into microATX mobo territory. Get an aluminum chassis or new design (like the Fortron Epsilon series) PSU to further reduce weight.

I forgot also that http://www.svc.com was blowing out some Global Win aluminum cases - not particularly small, but reasonably light.
