Need suggestions for PCI EDIE Controller card (ATA100)

I have a server (one of the 6400's listed in the Hot Deals forum) that needs additional space. I don't have the money for SCSI, so I'm going to drop a controller card in the machine. The problem is that I think I remember hearing bad things about various different cards (Promise, etc). Does anyone have any suggestions/experiences? I'm purchasing a 7200 RPM ATA100 drive and would therefore like one that supports the ATA100 spec. Thanks!
