I need to put a discussion board on a small website. There will probably be fewer than 50 users, not much traffic, and I can't spend a lot of time babysitting it. I wouldn't mind spending a couple hundred bucks on the right package if it is easy to set up, and doesn't require a lot of maintenance. While FuseTalk is great, I can't use it because my hosting service doesn't have ColdFusion.

My hosting service runs Apache on Linux and has MySQL, cgi-bin, php and PERL support. Thanks for any suggestions.

Going up!

[edit] Now that's just scary. I wait all that time to bump this thread, and the first reply comes precisely while I'm taking 10 seconds bumping it! Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out. [/edit]

MXBoard from WebVelosix is a pretty good piece of software. I like the way the interface is setup over the standard view you get from boards like Yabb or FuseTalk.

Another vote for phpBB here - no muss, no fuss and a decent amount of mods/plug-ins.
