Hey guys, i just recently decided that i want to buy myself a nice little surround sound system for my room, because i was at my friends house playing with his ps3 and the surround sound, the bass and clarity are just so deep and crisp! ! i didint realise how good games and music can sound!

i currently have the altec lansing GT5051 virtual surround sound system for my computer as well as a audigy zs2 sound card..

im looking for a system that i can connect to my computer, and aswell to my television, if that is possible.

the system is mainly going to be for playing music, than playing my xbox 360, than watching dvds.

my budget currently is about 200 or 250 $$

can i get some suggestions on systems and any general tips?

i think this is the system my friend has its the samsung HT-z310t

thanks a lot

IMHO, either raise your budget about $150 or just buy the Logitech Z-5500. That budget is much too low for any decent home theater setup but is ok for a computer speaker system.

i could raise my budget a little..
do you mind linking some systems?

you see i dont want anything TOO crazy, because my room is upstairs and my computer system already vibrates through the house hah..

im just looking for something with excellent sound quality and deep bass and that i could use on my TV or computer!

thanks

This is the lowest I would go besides the Z-5500's

any more suggestions?
thanks

It's approx $430 with tax and you can pickup in store.

I haven't heard your speakers, however, I would think it to be a safe bet that the Z-5500's are significantly better. If you look in the right places you can find them for $150 now.

I don't think he needs to jump right up to the HT-SR800 though I do agree it is a very good system for the price. For now I would say that the HT-SR600 will suit him fine as a great starter set and I personally think it sounds a good deal better than the Logitech Z-5500's. The HT-SR600 can be found in the 240 dollar range typically I think, though I havent checked prices in a while.
