Need suggestions for audio card for ti4600

Hello all. I had to put a new motheroard into my PC due to a burned out AGP slot, I chose a Abit VA-20. I installed the "new" Ti4600 card. It runs real slow, choppy, on Battlefied 1942 and Vietnam. If I disable all audio within the game, it runs pretty good. Can this be a conflict between the audio drivers and the video card? I think the motherboard uses realtek ac97. I had used a ti4200 previously that ran just fine. Thanks

Have you installed the motherboard drivers? After a quick google, the VA-20 uses a VIA chipset. Head over to VIA Arena to DL the latest Hyperion drivers.

DL the Hyperion's & the latest drivers from nVidia's website
Here's my recommendation, and do it in order:
(1) Uninstall the current video drivers and motherboard drivers (if present)
(2) Download Driver Cleaner. Boot into safe mode and run the cleaners that remove nVidia drivers & if there is one for VIA drivers too. I would also recommend running the CAB Cleaner option.
(3) Boot into Windows & install the Hyperion's. Reboot
(4) Boot into Windows & install the nVidia drivers. Reboot

If it still isn't working, make sure you have BF1942 & Vietnam patched to the latest versions. Come back to us from there
