Since Northernlight has decided to stop providing a free site (as of 1/16/02). I need a good start/home page for IE. I used NL in the past cause the it does pretty good searches, plus they had an AP newsfeed that had the latest news. Also, I never got any pop-ups with them and the front page loads uber fast.

MSN.com and Yahoo.com come to mind, but there's too much crap there, especially with MSN. If I wanted infomation overload, I'd ask for it. Yahoo is ok, but it's still too cluttered for my tastes. I can handle cluttered, but pop-ups are a definate no-no. :disgust: As far as news goes, as much as I crave tech news, I only want the regular stuff. There are plenty of tech sites I visit daily.

Any suggestions?

Thought about Google, but I already have the Google toolbar integrated into IE so I rarely visit the front page. Plus it's too plain for me. I still want the basics. My wife would probably freak if I set it to blank. She sometimes surfs on my puter instead of her own and totally forgets that the web doesn't revolve around msn.com (her IE start page)

Teach your wife that a blank web page is like a blank Word document.

Hopefully, blank Word documents do not freak her.

Any other suggestions? I'm not going to put the forums as my start page. I'd end up spending double the amount of time I spend here now!
