Need Suggestion for making a Gaming rig

Hello, I am changing my rig to an advanced rig. Now I already have 980 AMP Edition so I dont need to change the GPU right now or should I change to 980 Ti AMP Extreme ? Will there be any major difference in performance?

Anyways, now I am going to make a powerful and advanced rig.
Now I was looking at the Skylake CPUs and I assume those are the latest and will be good for gaming? So which one should I take ?
And which mobo would be great for like overclocking and stability ? How will be the Asus Maximus VIII Extreme ?
And I will be getting 4 TB HDD or SSHD ? I already have a 256 GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD and I will be installing Windows 10 on that and that will be only for Windows. But what should I get for installing games? I mean should I get HDD or SSHD or what ? Kindly tell me the model no. I just wanna make sure that I dont get any problem when I am playing power hungry games.
And I am gonna take 16 GB DDR4 for now and will be adding more later in future but which brand and how Mhz should I get ?
Also need to know about which cooling for CPU and GPU is needed along with what power PSU, and cabby should I get.

So to summarize, I need info on building an advanced gaming rig on the following parts :
1- CPU
2- Mobo
3- Storage
4- RAM
5- Cooling for both CPU and GPU
6- PSU
7 - Cabby

And yes I will be overclocking in future.

Kindly help if you can. I will very grateful 🙂

You need to answer the sticky questions:

PLEASE when you POST threads asking for input on system builds tell us...

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.

4. IF you're buying parts OUTSIDE the US, please post a link to the vendor you'll be buying from.
We can't be expected to scour the internet on your behalf, chasing down deals in your specific country... Again, help us, help YOU.

5. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.

6. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.

8. What resolution, not monitor size, will you be using?

9. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Note that it is usually not cost or time effective to choose your build more than a month before you actually plan to be using it.

10. Do you need to purchase any software to go with the system, such as Windows or Blu Ray playback software?

At the end of the day it's your money. There's only so much we can do.

1- Only Gaming at Ultra settings @ 4K . And sometimes movies etc. Mostly gaming.

2- Budget is not a factor. I can give as much as its needed but I want quality things for my setup.

3- I am from India and I will be getting my things from my own country. I have a local computer shop which gives good discounts and almost everything is available. Price currency is INR.

4- The local computer shop has its own website : http://mdcomputers.in/ and if something is not available , I will get it from https://www.theitdepot.com/ . ItDepot is India's biggest online shop for IT products and has almost everything in store.
So I will be shopping from my local computer shop and if I cant find anything , then I will get it from ItDepot and even that thing is not still not available , I will get it from Amazon.COM . I have imported many things like Elgato Hd60, Astro A50 , Blue Yeti etc.

5- I like Intel , Nvidia, and about Seagate or WD , I am not sure which brand will be good for my gaming setup and whether to get SSHD or Black HDDs, so its upto you pros to help me out in choosing the best .

6- I already have 980 AMP Extreme , 2 BenQ gaming monitors ( Benq RL2455hm and Benq XL2411T ) . So I will be using those 3 stuffs from my current build. But if I need to change from 980 to 980 Ti , I will if there is any major difference in performance.

7- Yes I plan to overclock within some months.

8- I wanna play @ 4K resolution. But as I have those 2 monitors which are 1080p , I heard that there is something called dsr 4k which allows me to play @ 4k res in a 1080p monitor ? I will eventually get a 4K monitor after 1 month . But just for the time being I wanna use the current monitors.

9- I will be buying the rig within 5th of January 2016.

10- I bought Win 8.1 Pro x64 last year and I will be using that . I dont wanna buy Win 10 because there is too much internet activity . And I already have Kaspersky Internet Security 2016.

Thanking in advance for the help 😀

Budget is not a factor.
Money is no object? OK, here's an outline:

CPU: i7 5930K. You will need to overclock it.

CPU cooler: Corsair H100i, or similar water cooling loop.

Mobo: Basically any LGA-2011v3 mobo with 8 RAM slots and at least 2 PCIe x16 slots. Though some will be better for overclocking than others. This looks decent.

Memory: 4 sticks DDR4, 1.2V. Speed doesn't matter a whole lot. Total 16GB or more.

Storage: Get an SSD. Feel free to get any spinning disks you think you need for backup and/or extra storage. Or not.

Video cards: Two 980tis. One 4K monitor equals 4 1080p monitors!

Case: Kind of a personal decision. Corsair 200R is a good baseline.

Power supply: Something powerful. 😉 Here's a 900W Antec.

If this is too much for you, please supply a budget. 🙂

Can't really do much better than this!

Good build above, but I'd make one major change: the case. The Corsair 200R is a nice budget case, but it's the wrong choice for running dual 980 Ti cards. You need a case with serious airflow - the Phanteks Enthoo Pro should be your starting point. If that's not available at your store, try any of the high-end cases from Corsair (450D, 500R, 600T, 750D, Air 540, or 780T).

Thanks a lot. Its within my budget. 🙂
But about storage, I already have a SSD which is for Windows only. But as you suggested I am getting 2x 500 gb SSD 850 for installing games only. Now, I wanna keep some movies and other stuffs , so what should I get for those ? WD Black or SSHD ? Performance wise, which will be better?

WD Black.

WD Black shouldn't be better performance wise than an SSHD, though it is the better purchase. With no budget limit you'll have plenty of pure SSD space for games, so HDD speed is not even a factor - I would recommend WD Green for file storage duty instead, it runs quieter than WD Black (and costs a lot less).

Regarding RAM, neither brand is better. Buy whichever fast 16GB DDR4 kit happens to be the cheapest. Doesn't have to be 1.2V, 1.35V is fine too, it's the typical voltage for the more overclocked kits. I'd prefer 2x8GB over 4x4GB. The benefit of quad channel is so slim. This looks good: http://mdcomputers.in/products/g-sk...b-ddr4-8x2-kit-2666mhz-f4-2666c15d-16gvr.html

Thank you for replying. 🙂
But will not 3200 Mhz be better than 2666 Mhz ? And also as I will be taking the mobo which will support 64 GB DDR4 , I was thinking to get a single kit of 16 GB , that way I can get 3x 16 GB in the future but if I get 2x 8GB , I will have to change the RAM again right ?

Theoretically yes but you will never notice any difference in practice, thus it doesn't make a lot of sense to pay thousands or INR more for higher speeds. Besides, you can manually overclock most 2666MHz 1.2V kits to 2800-3000MHz by supplying 1.35V.

This doesn't make any sense, you should use RAM in multiples of 2 so you don't lose performance due to single channel. What's the point of buying an enthusiast class platform only to have entry level memory performance? Just go with 2x8 or 4x4. For gaming, that's all you'll ever need, as gaming doesn't use a lot of RAM. For a gaming rig, I can't think of a reason to upgrade RAM beyond 16GB total

The platform supports quad channel, so 4x4 is the minimum config I would recommend w/ a "no budget" budget 😉

@Arachnotronic

Yes, I'm aware it supports quad channel, said it in my first post. The gain of quad over dual is minimal, so I would personally buy 2x8 instead (4x8 would be stupidly overkill for a gaming rig). 4x4 is fine too but 2x8 tends to cost less and has less of a chance of not working.
