Need SSL (HTTPS) for forum login !!!!

It BOGGLES my MIND that one of the PREMIER technology forums on the PLANET has no security on the login!!!!!!!

It feels really weird to me every time I login. The reputation of people on these forums seems as important to me as Ebay, or Amazon.com. I would think you'd want to have a secure login.

Implementing SSL is NOT THAT HARD. I've done it on IIS, and IPlanet. It's especially easy on IIS. I suppose you're using Apache? The hard part is getting the certificate, I've never done that outside of the comfortable confines of the corporate network I'm on, but I've read that Comodo issues certs, I have no idea of the cost.

My valuable online identity is at risk!

On a serious note, it's a good idea but its unlikely FuseCrap will do anything about it.

The issue is the slow down to servers. Although I'm thinking anandtech should have enough money to pay for any additional hosting costs for beefer machines.
