Need something to cover up my case's front panel

A while ago, I saw a picture of a case where the front panel was cut out to allow maximum airflow for a 120mm fan in the front. I was inspired to do the same thing, and am planning on cutting up the front panel of my case and mount a 120mm fan in the front. But, they used a 120mm fingerguard, and I personally think that doesn't look great sitting on the front of my case. I'd rather cover it with some sort of fine mesh that would blend in better with my case's nice bland beige color instead of a standard fingerguard. Would that impede airflow at all? If not, where can I get some?

Anything you put in front of a fan will impead airflow to some degree. You can get fine mesh filters, panty hose, AC filter, windows and door screen, whatever. They will all affect airflow, if you want maximum air (and dust and dirt and cat hairs, whatever) going in, use nothing.

why not get a mesh fan filter. it will keep a decent amount of the dust out and act as a finger guard. they even sell them at compusa

I use a forced airconditioning filter. It works very well and my Chieftec/Antec tower case hides it very well. So much so in fact that I remembered now that I should change it sometime.
