Despite how sad it may seem I want to get a cisco router just to play with. I'll be using it in a real world situation, but will just be at home and for playing with and learning how it works. I have 4 pc's at home now, and one laptop and an ipaq that access it wirelessly, and a 24port dell switch. Wondering what decent priced (under $150) cisco would suit my needs.

You at least to get a Cisco 2500 Series Router. You can find it cheap from ebay. Finish study then resell it on ebay again.

Alternatively, you can get 2 single eth routers and link them via a serial...This is what I do at home, but that is only because someone gave me one single eth router and i figured it'd just be cool....also have a 1912 catalyst switch....I bought everything with the intention of sellin when i was done, but im doing so many cool ass things that there isn't any way i'd part with them now....vpn/vlan-ing with .1q/qos etc
really neat.
cheers.
