Need someone to advise me in regards to EBAY

I have been to ebay 3 times and have had only 1 good experience buying. Not really fond of using it but don't have much of a choice. My question is, after looking at their intro to selling, i am under the impression that they charge about 5% of your item if you sell? With their example I just used the numbers and thats about what it came out to... insertion fee + the final payoff on a $25 item...

would appreciate any help here so i don't end up creating a mess in trying to get rid of my item...

maybe this would help... lets say i have an item that i sell for $350...would they get about $17?

thanks

Yea they get a final payoff fee. You should really only be spending 55 cents on posting the item. Gallery + insertion. That was the old figure from last summer when I did MASS selling. Dont worry about the final payoff, just assume they'll take a chunk. Then paypal fees.

Good buyers pay within 5 min of auction ending. You can pretty much box it up and pack it beforehand so all you do is print the label out from your computer and send it the next day.

I sold something with 0 reputation on the same day I got the account, so that was pretty cool. I just sold a $315 blackberry to someone with 0 rating too... interesting although i was a bit worried at first.
