That is what my car looks like. I am curious as to whether the rear quarterpanel can even be fixed at all. It appears as though the rear right quarterpanel, roof, and rear left quaterpanel are all one unit... any clue?

any idea of some sort of guesstimate as to what this might be in the range of?

if its worth 6k... i doubt it's totalled. assuming its only body work and not mechanical problems inside the door... i'd guess it'll cost about $1500 to fix

That doesn't look too bad. I had a much worse collision with a truck a few years ago. Idiot changed lanes into the side of my car as I was driving past-took out the driver's door on back. That accident cost a little over $2k and they had to replace the door. Take it to a body shop and get an estimate-that shouldn't cost anything.

They can fix the quarter panel. It involves pulling the metal back out and filling it with body filler-a good shop should be able to accomplish this with very little filler.

Doesn't look totaled to me. The rear quarter can be easily straightened out. The door skin may have to be replaced, but probably not (depends on if they think it will be more in labor than to replace it). I'd go with everyone else saying $1500-$2000, maybe as low as $1000. It doesn't look totaled to me, but it's hard to tell from pics.

BTW, my only experience with bodywork is hitting a guardrail last year, so take it with a grain of salt.

Totaled? You scratch up a body panel and you're worrying about your car being totaled? Hahahahaa.

I know it sucks having to fix your car and all but it's just a damaged body panel, duder.

Try ramming into a car @ 40mph and destroying the front half of your vehicle like my friend just did this week, now THAT is something to worry about. He had the choice to total it or fix it; he chose to fix it just because it's an old diesel Mercedes and those things are basically immortal.

not totalled,
but thats good 2500-3000 bucks worth of damage. People around here know sh!t about cars in general.
The door will be replaced, especially if the hinge is messed up (unever gap), the quarter panel will need to be pulled, but i highly doubt that will work since the bends are too sharp (they drill thru and put little sticks that spread out so you can pull the metal out) . They might need to cut the piece out and weld new metal on top of it. Then you need to grind and sand it out, possible bondo some, prime and paint it over. The door alone will be about 800 bucks from oem, so the $1000 figure is just someone pulling it outta their ass

go nissan btw!
